Firm Secures Affirmance of Denial of Certificate of Need by the Department of Community Health
Today, Robbins Firm attorneys Josh Belinfante and Dan Monahan secured the affirmance of a Certificate of Need decision issued by the Department of Community Health. Hearing Officer Bill Joy at the Department of Community Health affirmed the Department’s initial decision to deny a certificate of need to Lake Bridge Behavioral Health to add a 25-bed adult acute inpatient psychiatric and substance abuse program to its existing campus in Macon, Georgia. In his decision, Hearing Officer Joy determined, among other things, that the application failed to establish there was sufficient need for the proposed project within the relevant service area, and that existing alternatives, including the Firm’s client, Coliseum Medical Center, were sufficiently available to service area residents, and offered facilities potentially superior to those proposed by Lake Bridge.
