With over three decades of experience in the public and private sectors, Roy B. Robinson, III, is a trusted and proven bipartisan government relations professional. His career began on the congressional staff of retired U.S. Senator Sam Nunn and later included a role as director of legislative and regulatory affairs at AGL Resources. While at AGL, he was instrumental in the passage of the Natural Gas Competition and Deregulation Act (1997), which made Georgia the first state to deregulate natural gas.
In 2002, Robinson established The R.B. Robinson Company, LLC, a public affairs firm focused on governmental relations and public policy. He later co-founded Robbins Government Relations (RGR) in 2018. Through these two firms, he advises a variety of clients, including Fortune 500 companies and non-governmental organizations, on matters before the Georgia General Assembly.
A native of Macon, Georgia, Robinson’s commitment to community is reflected in his extensive civic leadership. He is a past Chairman of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce’s Government Affairs Council (GAC), a past officer of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators (NBCSL) Corporate Roundtable, and a current member of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus (GLBC) Corporate Roundtable. His past board service includes Create Your Dreams (CYD), Mount de Sales Academy and the Georgia College and State University Foundation. He is also an alumnus of Leadership Macon, Leadership Atlanta, and Leadership Georgia.
Robinson’s academic credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Policy and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Southern University and A&M College, in addition to a Master of Public Administration from Georgia College and State University.
