Melanie joined the firm in March 2020. Previously, she was Deputy Executive Counsel for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources for four years. While with the Department, Melanie advised on a wide range of regulatory and legislative matters and oversaw the agency’s open records policies. Melanie is experienced in all aspects of administrative law and regularly represented the Department in proceedings before the Office of State Administrative Hearings.
Melanie graduated from Elon University in North Carolina with a Biology degree. She then earned her JD from the University of Arkansas School of Law where she was a member of the Journal of Food Law and Policy. During law school she also interned with Justice Keith Blackwell of the Supreme Court of Georgia
